” Iran Murasingha is a safe, honest, and competent guide. He did not pressure us with any upselling, drove us where we needed, and provided useful suggestions of things to do at our discretion. My girlfriend and I had a very comfortable ride around this amazing country in his white minivan. While it may be a little old, it was very comfortable for two people and allowed us to relax on some of the long rides between cities. Iran is very calm, relaxed, and funny. It took about a day to get into a rhythm and he was very patient with our many questions and detours. “

“I have just returned home from a very long journey and would like to share my experience with Iran. I only had 2 days in Sri Lanka but really wanted to visit the Udawalawe Park. Iran picked me up in Colombo and expertly drove me for 5 hours to the park, arranged for the most experienced guides and later we arrived at the Grand Udawalawe Resort for overnight. The next day I had to return to Galle to catch the ship and he chose a very scenic drive through some rural areas with nice stops and dropped me safely at the port. He is a good man and if you want to experience Sri Lanka naturally and safely I highly recommend his services. I only hope I can return someday and fully explore this rugged yet charming country.

Iran helped us navigate Sri Lanka is his fantastic mini van, which was perfectly sized for our family of 4 and very well priced when matched up against other options. His driving skills were impeccable in what were at times, demanding driving conditions. He was happy to accommodate our every travel wish even when we were completely unprepared, late to arrival points, or naive in our expectations. We felt safe in Iran’s hands at all times and couldn’t recommend him and his company ‘Tear Drop Tours’ more highly.

“We toured Sri Lanka for a week with Iran Marasinghe. He turned out to be an excellent driver but also a good guide, often better than the official guides we met at the sites we visited. While they just blabbered away what they had memorised, Iran knew how to tell stories and make the place come to life. Moreover, he knew all the secret and interesting ‘smaller’ sites that make a trip not just touristic but adventurous. We sometimes felt a bit like Stanley and Livingstone.
Last but not least: Iran speaks fluent English, has a fine sense of humor and is a decent and honest man. It felt safe to travel with him and it often was great fun.”
